About Miles

Biography

After graduating from McClatchy High School, Miles Hermann was pointed in the direction of Sacramento City College where he was a student of Gregory Kondos. There, he sealed his fate and embarked on an education and career in the arts. After City College, he attended the San Francisco Art Institute where instructors like Howard Smagula and Carlos Villa both inspired and encouraged further development in Drawing and Painting. Throughout college, he compiled a body of work that was to be his entree to the art world in December of 1986.

His work emphasizes the draftsmanship and diversity of subjects blended with the sinuous landscape and light-infused palette of the Sacramento Valley School of landscape painting.

Based in Sacramento, Miles Hermann’s paintings reflect the experience of a life’s work in the arts and the confident brush stroke of a master.
